Electrical Site Engineer (16-months contract)

Job Summary
This role will oversee on-site electrical engineering activities, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with specifications and standards. This role requires excellent technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on-site.
- Ensure that all electrical work complies with industry standards, codes, and project
- specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, providing guidance to the site
- team.
- Collaborate with design and project engineers to address technical challenges.
- Conduct inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or defects in a timely manner
- Manage and supervise electricians and subcontractors to ensure project deadlines are
- met.
- Provide training and support to site personnel as needed.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, maintaining accurate records of on-site
- activities.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project managers, providing updates on project
- status.
- Implement and enforce site-specific health and safety measures.
- Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in electrical engineering roles within the power utilities and/or industry, renewable energy particularly in ground mounted solar power plant or equivalent
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in electrical systems design and installation.
- Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools).
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Certifications:
- Professional Engineering License (or working toward it) is preferred.
- Certification in health and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is an advantage.
- Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and Construction Occupational
- Safety and Health (COSH) certifications an added advantage
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in ground mounted solar power plant rolling terrain is an added advantage
- Familiarity on NGCP standards and application processes is preferred
